What is the Hyde Finder?

The Hyde Finder is the world’s first GPS enabled arrow collar system designed to help hunters recover game after the shot. When your arrow hits the animal, it deploys a small GPS capsule into the animal, which sends real-time location data to the Hyde Finder mobile app. This allows you to track your game for up to 1.5 miles, dramatically increasing recovery success rates.

How does the Hyde Finder work?

1. The Hyde Finder collar screws into your arrow shaft and your broadhead screws into the front of the Hyde finder. It’s a collar system.

2. On impact, the capsule automatically releases into the animal.

3. The capsule immediately activates and begins transmitting GPS coordinates to your Hyde Finder app.

4. Use your phone to track the animal in real-time until recovery.

Will using the Hyde Finder affect my arrow’s accuracy?

No. The Hyde Finder is engineered to maintain perfect arrow balance and flight. You will be adding some foc, approximately 50 grains which helps with penetration. It has been tested extensively to ensure no noticeable effect on broadhead accuracy, even at longer ranges.

Compatibility

Will the Hyde Finder work with my arrows and broadheads?

The Hyde Finder fits standard hunting arrows with an 8-32 thread broadhead insert, 4mm,5mm, 6.5 mm which covers the majority of compound and crossbow setups. Always check your arrow diameter and setup before purchasing.

Is the Hyde Finder legal for hunting in my state?

In most states, yes. The Hyde Finder is non-barbed and designed to comply with hunting regulations. However, because hunting laws vary by state, we recommend checking your local game laws before use. Laws are still catching up to technology it may just take some time.

How far can the Hyde Finder track an animal?

The Hyde Finder GPS capsule has a range of up to 1.5 miles in typical hunting environments, including thick woods and hilly terrain.

You’ll need the Hyde Finder mobile app, available on iOS and Android.

The app includes features like tracking maps, distance and direction indicators, and an e-commerce section to reorder capsules.

How long is battery life

The battery is turned on via impact and lasts 72 hours.

Does the Hyde Finder require cell service to work?

No. The Hyde Finder uses a LoRa GPS signal, so it works even in areas without cellular reception.

How many uses do I get per capsule?

Each capsule is single-use and designed to remain with the animal until recovery. This ensures accurate tracking and prevents interference with future hunts. Replacement packs can be purchased directly from the Rytac app.

How do I reorder capsules?

Capsules can be purchased directly through the Rytac Hyde Finder mobile app or from our website. Subscription options are also available for automatic monthly shipments.

Do I need a subscription to use the Hyde Finder?

No. However there will be a fee for the yearly application but subscription is not required as it’s a one time yearly fee. However, there is an annual upgrade level that unlocks advanced features such as hunt history, community sharing, and enhanced map tracking.

Rytac wanted to help people with sight disabilities, hunting in rain or sub prime weather, new hunters who have a hard time tracking, experienced hunters who wanted to make it easier to recover game before predators arrived and the everyday average hunter who want to cut down on rigorous tracking time being more efficient. While we love traditional tracking we wanted to give hunters a new ethical way to recover game . First of it’s kind .

Yes. Both the collar and capsules are fully waterproof and weatherproof, designed to perform in rain, snow, and extreme temperatures.

Can the Hyde Finder be reused?

The collar is reusable, but each capsule is single-use only. The design ensures reliability and accuracy with every shot.

February 2026: Manufacturing run begins.
